Commenting on the announcement made by Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman at the 37th GST Council held at Goa on September 20, Vanathi Srinivasan said "Fulfilling the long-term demand of minority workers of Western Tamil Nadu especially Coimbatore, Tirupur and Salem, the amendments made in the GST Council has brought much relief and cheers among them. Our stock market has touched an exciting height and has given new hope."

"The current tax reform is a sign of India's progression. The requests putforth by five sectors Motor, Textile, Sugar, Civil and Jewelry have been considered. Especially, the Wet Grinder industry will be highly benefitted", she added. 

She noted that Wet Grinder Products have been reduced by 5% GST. Job Order GST is reduced to 12%. 

When questioned on North Indian candidates getting lion’s share of railway jobs in Madurai Division of Southern Railways, the general Secretary of TN BJP she said "I came to know about this through media. However, it is necessary to look at this issue in depth regarding how many North Indians wrote exams and out of which how many people were from Tamil Nadu."
